ANTELOPE ISLAND — It’s that time of the year again when cyclists come out at dark to ride by the light of the full moon.
The annual Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride is Friday, July 27, at Antelope Island State Park. The event, now in its 25th year, is a non-competitive, family-friendly, out-and-back bicycle ride on the island between White Rock Bay and Fielding Garr Ranch.
The ride starts at 10 p.m. Friday — check-in begins at 7:30 p.m. — at White Rock Bay. Entrance to the state park is at 4528 W. 1700 South in Syracuse.
The 24-mile route is entirely on asphalt.
The event is a fundraiser, with proceeds going to Friends of Antelope Island for program funding.
A contest will be held for the best-decorated bikes at the ride. Prizes include a new bicycle, Lagoon passes and tickets to Davis Arts Council shows.
On-site registration is $40; cash or check is requested.
